LCA MultiMedia 2015

LCA Multimedia Miniconf

NOTE: The content of this subsite is missing and needs to be recovered from way back when machine

Following the success and positive feedback received in response to the 2014 Multimedia and Music Miniconf, we are again proposing to hold this miniconf at LCA2015. This website will act as the definitive source of information about the miniconf and, if accepted, will be used to publicise the program.

Our formal Call For Papers? is retained for reference. The schedule? is available? which includes links to slides, videos and other presentation material. Videos from the miniconf are available on the Linux Australia mirror.

In addition to the talks given at our miniconf there were a number of multimedia related presentations in the main LCA conference?.

Significant dates:

  • 13 July 2014: Call for miniconf proposals close
  • Early September: Notification of accepted miniconfs sent

If the Miniconf is accepted:

  • Mid September: A call for miniconf papers will be issued
  • 12 or 13 January 2015: Miniconf dates at LCA 2015

If you have an idea for a presentation at the miniconf you don't have to wait for the call for papers to be announced: please contact one of the miniconf organisers and we'd be happy to have a chat about your ideas.

In addition to formal presentations we intend to hold an informal jam session as part of the miniconf, similar to what was done at LCA2014. This is an excellent way to showcase the music and multimedia being created by our community with open source tools.

For more information about the miniconf please contact one of the organisers.

The LCA 2015 Multimedia and Music Miniconf is being proposed by Jonathan Woithe and Silvia Pfeiffer.
