1) Accept meeting minutes

Minutes of the last Annodex Foundation Committee meeting have been reviewed and accepted. They are published and locked at http://annodex.org/wiki/Committee/Meetings/2006_05_01/.

2) Address Action Items brought forward

DONE: Conrad to fix email for annodex.net and annodex.org

-> Conrad has set up a new mailserver. Email aliases can be set up for both @annodex.{net,org} addresses - let Conrad know if you want one. It also runs the lists.annodex.net mailing lists using mailman. Switching over some lists to annodex.org is difficult with mailman, and it was therefore decided not to do this.

-> ACTION: all position holders to email Conrad for setup of aliases

TODO: James to set up Annodex Shop at cafepress and to have a t-shirt competition with members.

-> James will set up a shop as soon as we have our Foundation properly registered.

3) Incorporation Progress Report

Silvia related to the committee that the name reservation with the Office of Fair Trading in NSW has run out. After a phone call with them, it was explained that a "foundation" in NSW needs to follow much stricter rules than the Office of Fair Trading in Sydney told Silvia before and it was suggested to instead incorporate a non-profit organisation with ASIC, federally - as also suggested by CSIRO. Open Skills has done this before, so a chat with Bruce Badger could be useful. Another solution is to pick a different name and incorporate in NSW.

Also, CSIRO is moving slowly with their open source strategy and the formal agreement for the foundation since relevant people have been on leave and busy with other things.

-> ACTION: Everyone to build themselves an opinion on the issues with incorporation federally or in NSW, see e.g. http://annodex.org/wiki/Legal_Documents, and chat to Bruce, and discuss at next meeting(s).

-> ACTION: Silvia to mail the membership a summary of what's going on regarding incorporation, AGM etc.

4) CeBIT

We were not visually present at CeBIT for several reasons, one of which being the issues around incorporation. Also, since the Firefox Plugin is not quite stable on Linux yet, demonstrating it at CeBIT didn't make much sense. However, there was a well visited demo of the Aida mobile phone Annodex Browser at the CSIRO stall.

5) Google Summer of Code:

The two Xiph projects on implementing skeleton support in xiph tools and implementing a subtitle editor are both going ahead and doing well. We should support them where we can.

6) Any other business:

Mike's proposal to talk about CMML/annodex at Streaming Media Europe was silently rejected. :(

Silvia will be travelling for 5 weeks in June/July and will visit GUADEC, fluendo and the BBC.
