Meeting started 17:55, #annodex

In attendance: johnf, nessy, denisc

1. Open Media Now

Nessy has heard no news, but Rob still needs to be paid. There is also a late bill from FOMS.
Action: johnf to make payments; nessy to catch up with Rob Savoye

2. GSoC

Program has started already - see http://socghop.appspot.com/org/home/google/gsoc2009/xiph
xiph/annodex have 4 students.

3. Annodex.net website

The plan is to set up wordpress.
Action: johnf to upgrade the box; nessy to then set up wordpress; denisc to assist with content.

4. Software project updates

denisc reported that arkaiv has been modified to use the html5 video and audio tags and native playing within Firefox 3.5.
nessy reported that Conrad did a libfishsound release and oggz_chop release. He is now very active in the W3C Media Fragments WG and will most likely implement the media fragment URIs into liboggz so we will actually be standards conformant to the new W3C offset addressing ahead of almost everyone else.
nessy also reported that wiking worked on dirac support in liboggplay, and so did Conrad for liboggz so we may soon see Ogg Dirac/Vorbis videos being played inside Firefox natively, too!
johnf reported that libkate is now in debian, next to attack is liboggplay

5. Other topics

johnf reported that he has done a handover at the bank with purserj and now has access to the bank accounts
nessy noted that we need to do the annual statement for the association as it is 2 months overdue
mdale's comments on the list regarding the Open Video conference were noted - it's really shaping up to have a lot of Xiph people there.
mdale's comments were:
"This focus on video in Firefox 3.5 can be used by annodex to promote some pseudo standardization around the stuff we want to see happen. Temporal urls /http fragment requests, accessibility, search-ability"
nessy noted that we need to get the website up and running to better enable communication of these issues.
